YOUR FUTURE ENVIRONMENT

Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Génie Civil, has won the design-build contract awarded by Statens Vegvesen, a company owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport, to build the new section of the E18-E39 urban motorway between Gartnerløkka and Kolsdalen in Kristiansand, Norway, at a cost of more than €234 million (NOK 2,755 million).

The aim of the contract is to increase the capacity of the main interchange providing access to the city centre and port activities of the country's 6th largest city. It involves the construction of a 1.4 km 2x2 lane motorway in a dense urban area, including the construction of 12 structures, the reconstruction of 1.5 km of track, as well as the redevelopment of the existing ferry terminal and the installation of electrical and traffic engineering equipment.

This new contract strengthens the Group's position in Norway. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the geotechnical design complies with the requirements of the project stakeholders. The position is part of the Technical Department and you will report directly to the Technical Manager. You will be in constant communication with construction teams for the relevant scope, design coordinators, methods team, as well as with designers, the client, stakeholders, and geotechnical investigation companies.

YOUR MAIN TASKS

As Geotechnical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the design complies with the requirements from project's stakeholders, with a particular focus on the geotechnical scope and retaining walls. Your responsibilities and duties will include:

Data Management and Investigations:

• Collect and approve the relevant input data for design.

• Review this data in case of modification.

• More specifically, plan the geotechnical investigations.

Design Coordination and Integration:

• Manage the interfaces between geo disciplines and designers, in coordination with all technical departments.

• Make sure designers produce proper design documentation and models for approval.

• Lead design meetings with designers, controllers and other stakeholders.

• Manage the design programme.

Expertise and Quality Assurance:

• Ask for expertise if needed.

• Ensure proper and timely identification of site constraints and methods of works.

• Ensure timely communication of design to works teams.

• Register all changes or unconformities and process them in order to assess their consequences on design and contracts.

• Be the technical referent for site engineers.

• Contribute to the technical assessment of the works.

Monitoring and Documentation:

• Prepare completion and as-built documentation.

• Follow up on designers' contracts.

• Plan structural monitoring.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a professional with:

A minimum of 5 to 6 years of experience in a Geotechnical Manager or Senior Geotechnical Coordinator role, with at least 3 significant past positions on complex civil works or infrastructure projects.

A solid technical background in civil works is required.

In-depth expertise in geotechnical methodology, processes, and relevant software for geotechnical analysis (not exhaustive).

Demonstrated ability in project management, team and stakeholder coordination.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong communication skills, capable of training, coordinating, and influencing various stakeholders (designers, site teams, subcontractors, client).

Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential, as English is the project language.
